When we are living with concussion symptoms, neurological conditions, chronic illness, fatigue, burnout, brain fog, or nervous system dysregulation, we often also experience challenges with coordination, balance, concentration, spatial awareness, and feeling fully connected within our body.
This gentle Chair Yoga for Neurological Support practice is designed to support brain health through slow, mindful movement, cross-lateral coordination exercises, breath awareness, and subtle energy practices that encourage greater connection and communication throughout the body.
Chair Yoga for Neurological Support — Who Is This For?
This practice is especially supportive for:
Those recovering from concussion or traumatic brain injury
Anyone navigating neurological conditions or chronic illness
Those experiencing brain fog, fatigue, or burnout
Anyone with coordination, balance, or proprioception challenges
Those with nervous system dysregulation or overwhelm
Anyone wanting gentle, accessible brain health support
Those rebuilding connection with their body after illness or injury
No prior experience needed. All you need is a chair, some space, and a willingness to move gently and slowly.
What Are Cross-Lateral Movements?
Cross-lateral movements are movements where one side of the body works in opposition to the other — crossing the midline of the body in a coordinated way.
These movement patterns are deeply connected to how the brain and body communicate with one another. Even simple cross-lateral movements can help stimulate neural pathways involved in coordination, cognitive processing, balance, and sensory awareness. They gently encourage communication between the left and right hemispheres of the brain while supporting coordination, balance, proprioception, motor patterning, nervous system integration, and the subtle energy flows that move in crossover patterns throughout our human energy field.
Rather than overwhelming the body with intensity or overstimulation, this practice focuses on creating safety, rhythm, awareness, and gentle integration throughout the system.
In this practice we explore:
Cross-lateral movements to support left and right brain communication
Gentle seated movements for coordination and motor patterning
Breath awareness to support nervous system settling
Eye movements and visual tracking for neurological support
Subtle energy practices to support energetic integration and flow
