Subtle Energy Healing for Fatigue | Revitalise Through Your Root Chakra

When you’ve been depleted for a long time, fatigue can feel like more than simply being tired.

You may be resting, pacing yourself and doing what you can to conserve energy, yet still feel as though your reserves are very low. Rebuilding vitality can take time, particularly after prolonged stress, illness, burnout or a period when your body has needed more rest than usual.

This is a practice I have returned to through my own experience of chronic illness and fatigue.

It is simple, accessible and can be done lying in bed, resting on the couch or sitting quietly. There is no need to get up or use energy you do not have.

The focus is the root chakra, the energetic centre traditionally associated with safety, security, stability, physical presence and our sense of being supported in life.

Practice With Me

Move through the practice at your own pace. There is nothing you need to force or achieve. The intention is simply to bring some attention and support to an area of the energy system associated with grounding and physical vitality.

What is the Root Chakra?

The root chakra, or Muladhara, is the first chakra in the traditional chakra system and is often represented by the colour red. In the energetic framework I work with, it is associated with the hips, pelvic area and adrenals, and with our most fundamental sense of safety, stability and physical survival.

At its core, the root chakra is connected with our sense of deservedness and worthiness. It speaks to the belief that we have a right to exist, to take up space, to be supported and to thrive.

Because it is concerned with our foundations, the root chakra is also linked with the practical structures that support our lives, including finances, work, sexuality, relationships and our connection with the physical body.

Developmentally, this chakra is associated with the earliest months of life, from conception through roughly the first six to eight months. At this stage we are completely dependent on our caregivers and environment for survival. In subtle energy terms, this can mean our system is highly receptive to what is happening around us, including the underlying stress, fear or physical states of the people caring for us.

Some energetic traditions also associate the root chakra with physical empathy, the capacity to sense what is happening in others through sensations in our own body. When we are out of balance we can inadvertently take on others physical issues.

When this area feels supported, there can be a greater sense of being grounded, present and connected to the body. When we have been depleted, stressed or physically unwell for a long time, working with the root chakra can offer a simple way to reconnect with that sense of foundation and stability.

This Subtle Energy Healing for Fatigue Practice May be useful when:

  • Feeling physically or energetically depleted

  • Moving through a period of prolonged fatigue

  • Recovering from illness or a difficult period

  • Experiencing burnout or extended stress

  • Feeling ungrounded or disconnected from your body

  • Looking for a practice that requires very little physical effort

  • Wanting to support your energy without pushing yourself

A Note on Rebuilding Energy

When energy has been low for a long time, there can be a temptation to search for the thing that will make us feel better quickly.

My own experience has taught me something different. Restoration is often less about pushing for more energy and more about creating the conditions, as in this subtle energy healing for fatigue practice in which the system can gradually become more resourced.

Sometimes that means movement.

Sometimes it means rest.

Sometimes it means working with the subtle energetic layer and noticing what responds.

You may use this practice regularly for a while and then forget about it completely.

That is okay.

The practices that support us do not have to become another obligation.

They can simply be there to return to when they are useful.
